I really enjoyed the engaging style that Marshall uses in this video (so much so that I bought his 12 part course) and I think he does a great job in breaking down the essential concepts that help create the illusion of depth. Spheres and boxes are one of those practice tools that help us to simplify and adjust the form.
Anyways, I did a quick ink sketch just to play with it.
