Included in this video is the basics on how oil paints are made, the mediums used to manipulate the behaviour of the paints, the difference with acrylic, as well as some pointers around safety.
On that last note, the safety concerns around oil paints, outside of pigments (which applies to any paints), is around the mediums used to work with oils. There are alternatives, notably water soluble oils, that give you the oil paints without necessarily having to deal with the more toxic mediums.
As a final note on toxicity... While flax seed is natural, and safe, not all natural things from the ground are safe or good for you. She was a little quick to suggest natural was safe. :)
