Art Video of the Week - Good Brush Habits

This week, Mark Carder of "Draw Mix Paint" talks us through good brush habits and how to load your paint, for oil painters.

Whether or not you follow his approach directly, I don't, there are some good nuggets here.

One thing to remember is that you should know what you're going to paint and then pre-mix to that on the palette. Mixing enough colour for your efforts ahead of time assures consistency as it is really hard to mix to the exact same after the fact. The beauty of oils is that you can preserve them between sessions, in a variety of ways, so don't worry that you'll make too much and have to throw it away between sessions.
